Black Smokers
Black Smokers are natural chimneys that occur on the sea bed. They billow fumes of hot gasses and water. The are also known as hydrothermal vents. Super heated water spews from the vents in black plumes. Every drop of water in the ocean will circulate through a smoker every 10 million years.
